A philanthropist, Captain De Paul Heavens who also identifies himself as son of businessman and former MP for Assin Central Kennedy A. Agyapong has supported ENRH with a cash donation of GH₵ 40,000 for acquisition of a new incubator for the hospital.
At a short presentation ceremony to a section of the management team of the hospital, Captain De Paul Heavens indicated that the gesture is his wish and heartfelt commitment to prevent the loss of any preterm babies due to inadequate incubators.
According to him, the presentation which also coincided with his birthday on the 12th of May demonstrates his will to take after the philanthropic footsteps his boss Kennedy A. Agyapong.
Captain De Paul Heavens recalled how fortunate he was through circumstances surrounding his birth and added that the gesture is an expression of his thankfulness to God for how far he has come.
Captain Heavens says he was informed about the ENRH incubator situation through a radio interview on a Takoradi based FM station, Big FM.
In his message of appreciation, the Medical Director of the Hospital Dr Joseph Tambil prayed for God’s blessings on the life of Captain Heavens. He observed that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is a worthy role model to all public spirited Ghanaians and lauded Captains choice of a father figure.
He called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to support public hospitals in their locality. He pledged to use the funds for the intended purpose and take good care of the machine when it is purchased.
