Dr Tambil gave the assurance in response to a plea from the Western Regional Director of the Social Welfare Department that some minors who are reported to have suffered one form of abuse or the other find it difficult to obtain medical reports to back their case in bringing perpetrators to book.

Speaking at a Gender Based Violence seminar held at the ENRH conference center on November 27 2024, the regional Social Welfare director Mr. Jonathan Gyan Gyau hinted that young girls living in poverty are more likely to experience violence and other forms of abuse. He observed that in some instances, cases of abuse reported at his office had which will be used as evidence to prosecute perpetrators and bring them to justice.
