Newly appointed Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson has paid a visit to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital. The Minister who was received by hospital management said the visit was to emphasize the fact that his doors are always open to any requests for assistance towards the wellbeing of the citizenry and the progress of the hospital.
In an interaction at the management boardroom, the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Joseph Kojo Tambil, in a presentation briefed the Minister and his entourage about the progress the hospital is making to improve client experience. Dr Tambil indicated among other things the introduction and expansion of services which has reduced the plight of patients travelling to other parts of the country to receive care.
He mentioned the introduction of a dialysis center, the set-up of an ICU/HDU, a soon to be commissioned maternity suite, mammography services, a referral call center, just to mention a few as sterling contributions made by the current management.
Dr Tambil outlined equipment breakdown and increasing cost of medical consumables as key challenges the hospital is contending with.
The Regional Minister commended ENRH for its crucial role in healthcare delivery in the region. He specially commended management for their commitment to improve services and ensure that the hospital attains its stated vision. He encouraged management to strive to improve on client experience and offered to support in any endeavor that will see to the progress of the hospital.
Hon. Nelson toured the ongoing 500 bed new project under construction in the hospital to assess the level of work there.
