Timely Care Foundation hands over refurbished NICU mothers Hostel

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Timely Care Foundation (TCF), Apostle Oppong-Ankomah, PhD, and his friends have established the first Neo-Natal Infant Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hostel in the Western Region at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi.

Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hostel is for the mothers who have given birth to premature babies but have nowhere to sleep when their babies are being kept in an incubator. A ceremony was held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, as the project was officially handed over to the hospital.
The General Overseer of Christian Faith Church International (CFCI) and the Coordinator of Sekondi-Takoradi churches, Bishop Dr Emmanuel Botwe unveiled the plaque and prayed over the facility. The Medical Director of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital as well as the Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Madam Justina Amo Yartey and a few family members and friends were there to grace the occasion.
The CEO of TCF, who was responsible for the project, Apostle Oppong-Ankomah, PhD, revealed that he found the project necessary after he had donated incubators to the hospital in 2008. Following it up, he noticed most mothers who have their babies kept in incubators sleep on the bare floor whiles they wait for their babies to mature.
Upon realizing that, he invested by refurbishing and renovating the NICU hostel for mothers in such a situation.
The renovation and refurbishment involved;
1. Tilling of Floor..12 feet by 40 feet
2. Painting
3. Fixing of two toilets facility
4. Fixing of two wash hand basin and tilling the area
5. Provision of 4 ceiling fans
6. Curtains
7. Beds to accommodate 16 mothers
8. 16 high density student mistresses
9. 16 pillows
10. I6 bed sheets
11. Two giants wardrobes that contain 16 lockers
12. A 40 inch television set
13. A Refrigerator to store breast milk for the neo infants
14. Fixing of louver blades for the whole facility

Apostle Oppong Ankomah, who is also the Deputy General Overseer of the Christian Faith Church International, noted that he could not do it all alone and was supported by some benevolent friends and other organizations, who found the initiative to be a worthy one.
Also, he explained this will not be his last project for humanity because he has found it necessary to help the needy and fill loopholes in society as he will gladly do when the need arises.
